Hello and welcome to the Senior Library! 

My name is Katharine Ryan and I have been College Librarian at St Andrew’s College since November 2006.  I am a professionally qualified Librarian having trained and worked at University College Dublin. 

I have had a varied career working at a teaching training college, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, international property consultants Richard Ellis and Jonathan Edwards Consulting (all in London).  I completed my MSc at City University, London, and then moved to Bermuda where I was Librarian at a private K-12 school.  Research and information can take you anywhere in the world!

I have a keen interest in the provision of information literacy in Irish schools and am a member of the Library Association of Ireland’s Task Force On Information Literacy.  I am also a member of the School Library Association of Ireland (SLARI) and the American Library Association (ALA).
