Debs Reception for the Class of 2019
Every Year the PTA host a pre debs reception for our recent graduates and their parents at the school. For several years now we have ensured that this is an alcohol-free event and this year we went to great lengths to ensure a wide variety of non-alcoholic options were available. We were ably assisted by past pupil Robert Mitchell in this task and we sampled a wider variety of non-alcoholic wines, beers and minerals. We think we found the right combination in providing non-alcoholic beers, fizzy water, summer punch and Nosecco!
Our recent graduates looked wonderful in their finery, as did their parents! Again, for the first time this year, we ensured that there were two roaming photographers so that every family who wished to have their photograph taken on the 'blue' carpet could do so/ Our sincere thanks to former SAC parent Brendan Fogarty and current parent Pat Kiersey for providing us with that service.
Our senior hall was decorated in the traditional St Andrew's colours of blue and silver and we had many decorative pieces acknowledging that these debutantes were leaving us in the College's 125th year.
Headmistress Joan Kirby gave a wonderful speech and, following a fantastic selection of canapés provided by our catering staff at Sodexo consumed to the sultry tones of our Cuban Band, it was soon time for the grand finale of the night; the Debutantes' group photograph.
Congratulations to all our graduates of 2019. We wish them the best in their future and we complement their parents on the huge task of getting them this far!
