A great day out at the East Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships
On 25 January 2023, over forty St Andrew's College students made the journey to the Phoenix park to take part in the East Leinster Cross Country Championships. Runners ranged from social to competitive and an enjoyable day was had by all. History was made with the inter girls retaining their title of East Leinster champions by winning their team event. Results
1st Year Girls
5th Place with a total of seventeen girls participating.
Louise Hanley (1DN) qualified for the Leinster Schools Cross Country after come 13th out of one hundred and fourteen participants.
1st Year Boys
Peter Wood (1DN) qualified for Leinster’s after coming 13th out of one hundred and sixteen participants.
Junior Girls
The Junior Girls team made up of Sophie Lawrence (1DN), Ruby McNaughton (1DN) Grace Fanning (1GY), Phoebe Peare (1HS), Amy Wood (2DE) and Anna Butler (2JS) qualified for the Leinster’s.
Anna Butler and Sophie Lawrence finished 5th and 10th individually.
Inter Girls
The Inter Girls team retained their titled by winning the team event and qualified for the Leinster’s.
Natasha Armah-Kwantreng (4DE), Ella May Spain (4NE), Rosanna Hickey (4SMcA) and Holly O’Brien (4SN) and all finished within the top ten.
Senior Boys
Andrew McGilton (5BH) finished 5th place in the Senior Boys race which qualifies him for the Leinster’s.
