Irish Schools XC Championship
Athletics meet in Belfast
Mallusk Playing Fields in Belfast played host to the Irish Schools XC championships on Saturday, as the top athletes and teams from each province contested the highly prestigious eight race programme.
Congratulations to ...
- Zoe McCarroll who was competing in the girls Minor 2000m. Zoe finished in 9th position overall.
- The inter girls team of Holly O'Brien, Natasha Armah Kwantreng, Ruby Mullen, Rosie Hickey, Isabel Lydon and Emilie Duffy who came 5th overall.
- Holly O'Brien who finished in 11th position, also securing selection for the Irish 4 x 1k XC relay squad at the Schools International (SIAB’s) in Wales later this month.
- Oscar Legge who competed against some of Ireland's top middle distance athletes over this 5000m course and held on for a 13th place finish. A superb run by Oscar who also provisionally qualified for the 4 x 1k Irish relay squad at the Schools International (SIAB’s) in Wales at the end of this month.
